Trisha Sanghavi
Trisha is a resident dancer and actor and is thrilled to still be performing. As a child, Trisha participated in annual Mahavir Jayanti showcases and later competed across the U.S. and Canada through FOGANA (Federation of Gujratis Across North America) garba/raas competitions. She is also classically trained in Bharat Natyam under Dr. Arti Datta of Mudra Dance Studio and performed her Arangetram in 2007.
During her undergraduate career at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Trisha danced with Penn Masti, a co-ed South Asian fusion dance team. Throughout her 4-year involvement with Masti, Trisha brought together different global dance styles through unique fusion choreography, and also led the team as President, Show Chair, and Outreach Chair. She also taught Bollywood workshops in West Philadelphia at a local dance studio.
Trisha teaches middle and high school Spanish in Washington, DC, and when she's not at school or a SAPAN rehearsal, she enjoys watching movies. Trisha's favorite part about performing is having creative fun with a group of passionate friends who love innovative performance art and connecting with an audience just as much as she does. Trisha is known for some pretty awesome/awful signature moves - just ask her to show you "the peacock."
